This piece is a juxtaposition of the historical and the contemporary.
The contemporary is being portrayed in a satirical way with the imminent and famous selfie which suggests the dependence of an electronic device. It includes the “Get Shit Done” sign of a capitalist society where your output is equal to your worth. The historical is demonstrated in the shape of the vase which is a replica of a Chinese vase from the 18-19th century, as well as the process used to paint called "Terra Sigillata" which was used in ancient Roman pottery and as the technique of "cooking" the piece in a wood-fired oven made of bricks (which gleams in the "burned" parts of the vase).
Coiled ceramics with terra siggilata, pit fired.
